MARISTAS: A BILINGUAL SCHOOL

Maristas La Merced-Fuensanta from Murcia is a bilingual school since 2011. Our school takes part of the bilingual program CBM (Bilingual Schools of Murcia) of the Region of Murcia.  We teach in English three subjects: Science, Arts and Crafts and English. This year 4th graders are our top exponent of the program.

Our bilingual teachers have received a complete training program inside the classroom from expert consultants allowing us to give the best experience that a bilingual school can offer. This training was completed during the first three years of our bilingual process.

We are proud of being a bilingual school, and thanks to the hard work and dedication of our teachers and students we obtained a fantastic result in the TRINITY COLLEGE LONDON tests during the year 2013. The 98% of our students passed the test being Maristas Murcia one of the schools obtaining the highest ratings marks in our Region. (157 students completed the test).

Helping us to achieve a better and complete bilingual experience here in Maristas we are lucky to have language assistants from different nationalities. They come from The United Kingdom, North America and Ireland. These assistants are a great asset to our teacher’s daily labour and help our students to increase their culture knowledge and improve their pronuntiation among other advantages.

Here in Maristas we believe in the importance of learning different languages in our society. We teach English in a very fun and dinamic way for our students, emphasizing our efforts in the communicative skills. In our classes, the students are the main protagonists. They participate actively using all of our available resources in our full equipped classes.

In Maristas the new technologies are also present in our classrooms. We use a variety of different tools from projectors to interactive whiteboards. All of this help our students to develop all the necesary skills in the process of learning a second language.

In conclusion, in Maristas Murcia we believe in a better way of learning a second language, This is the reason why we give our best effort, dedication and passion in the process while our students learn and have fun doing it.
